When using the "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) feature, your API keys are stored securely in your browser's local storage by default. They are transmitted directly to the respective AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and are not intercepted or stored on Open Gambit's servers.

If you choose to use Cloud Synchronization by explicitly signing in with an account, your API keys and game history may be securely synchronized through our backend infrastructure to provide cross-device access.

3. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: If you sign in, we collect your authentication details.
  • Gameplay Data: Game history, moves, and analysis results to improve your learning experience.
  • Technical Data: Browser type, timezone, and device information for platform optimization.

4. Third-Party AI Providers

When you play against cloud-based AI models, your gameplay data is sent to third-party providers to generate the next move. These providers have their own privacy policies governing data usage.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Local data can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or the platform's Storage settings. Cloud-synchronized data will be retained until you request account deletion. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support.
